Stephanie completed her training as a mediator in April 2019 through the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, and maintains her annual CPD requirements. She has met all the requirements under the Family Law Act Regulation and carries professional liability insurance. Even though she became a mediator in 2019, Stephanie is not new to the mediation process and the neutral role of a mediator to help all parties reach an amicable agreement. Her interest-based approach to mediation, rooted with her years of experience in and understanding of family dynamics and family law, provides clients with an affordable yet valuable Mediator.
As a Mediator, Stephanie is available to mediate issues regarding guardianship, custody, parenting responsibilities, parenting time, access, child and spousal support issues for incomes no greater than $150,000 per annum, and division of assets and debts no greater than $1,000,000. As a Designated Paralegal, Stephanie can represent a client at mediation (click here to see our blog).
Whether acting as a Mediator or Designated Paralegal, Stephanie strives to help our clients find solutions amidst stress, chaos, and change. Being a parent and a spouse, Stephanie empathizes with the challenges clients face after a relationship breaks down, and that perspective serves our clients by creating solutions that meet the best interests of the children and the relationship dynamics. Her practical approach and keen knowledge of the laws and legal processes assists our clients to discern issues, focus on resolutions, and help create creative solutions for each client.
Stephanie has volunteered her time as a faculty member and co-chair for many courses offered through the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC in the area of Family Law. Her materials for the courses on the “New Supreme Court Family Rules” in 2010 and the “New Family Law Act” in 2013 are used by many legal support staff throughout the province. She has also volunteered as a panel speaker for courses offered through the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and was part of a paralegal focus group for CLEBC in 2014.
