Associate Lawyer – Family Law

Jamal Law Group currently has an opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic family lawyer to join its growing team.

The ideal candidate has previous general litigation and/or family law experience; good practice management skills; and is willing to contribute to a positive and respectful team environment. They will also have experience running files independently and be knowledgeable in a wide range of family law matters including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, as well as with conducting hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials.  Experience with alternate dispute resolution would be an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Member of the BC Bar in good standing
  • Legally entitled to practice law in Canada
  • Ability to run an organized caseload from beginning to end, with little to no supervision
  • Previous trial experience
  • Strong business acumen with verbal, negotiation, interpersonal and drafting skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team of professionals
  • Ability to provide clear direction to others
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Discretion and exceptional judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations
