Collaborative Law
Collaborative law is an increasingly popular alternative to the court process that can save time and money. Collaborative law is a team approach to separation and divorce. Both parties are represented by their own lawyer, however, at the outset, the parties and their lawyers must sign a written Participation Agreement committing to:- work together to resolve issues without going to court;
- be open and honest in all their communications;
- promptly disclose all relevant information; and
- keep negotiations confidential.
The focus of collaborative law is working together to come up with solutions that best serve the parties’ needs.
