Arbitration

Arbitration is similar to litigation. An arbitrator, who plays a “judge-like” role, makes the final decision to settle matters after hearing from both sides. Unlike in the courts, parties in an arbitration can select the decision maker.

The terms relating to arbitration are agreed to by the parties in advance and set out in an Agreement to Arbitrate. This process is particularly appropriate in circumstances where privacy is a concern as both the arbitration process and the final decision are confidential.
